Every runDisney race at Walt Disney World Resort runs through at least one theme park with Disney-curated entertainment on course, characters stop for photos, and yes, that's why your finish time is slower than your road PR.
Walt Disney World Resort is the only place you can run a full marathon with runDisney. Everywhere else on this list is half marathon distance or shorter.
Club runDisney (Gold and Platinum members) gets an early registration window before general registration opens. Popular weekends, especially Princess and Marathon Weekend, sell out. Mark both dates, not just one.
Lower-mileage virtual events let you run the distance wherever you are and still get the themed medal shipped to your door. A real way to test the runDisney waters before booking travel.
Start times are early, most races start before sunrise so the course clears before the parks open to regular guests, budget your sleep accordingly. Character stops cost time, decide before the gun whether you're running for time or running for the photo, trying to do both leaves you disappointed in both. Race weekend hotel rates run high and book out early, especially on-property, lock in your stay the same week registration opens, not after.
